A friend said to me once, "No Bible no breakfast, no Bible no bed." I had never heard that, and had never lived by it. This year I have a challenge for you, as well as one for myself. I challenge us to read the Bible before breakfast, to start our day, and read it before bed to end it. What better way to start and end a day than by the Word of the Lord our God? This year, let yourself walk closer to God.
Think about it: There are 365 days in a year. If you read two chapters of the Bible a day (one in the morning and one in the evening), that is 730 chapters of the Bible in a year. If you do this you will have been able to read most of the Bible in one year at a comfortable pace! And imagine if you picked up a chapter at lunch too!
Even if you were unable to read an entire chapter at breakfast and then an entire chapter before bed, just reading a few verses a day and really focusing on those verses throughout the day can draw you closer to God.
So, will you take up the challenge? Let me know in a post below, and come back frequently to share special verses that you come across throughout your year reading the Bible twice a day and I will do the same. You can keep up with news about what I'm reading daily HERE.
Until next time, have fun reading and blessings!
